I rode the pony today, I gave her the first real workout since she got injured last week and she was amazing! we jumped and it was so fun, she tends to get very BOLD and won't listen when I'm telling her to slow up, she just wants to GOgogogogo :D but today she did very well in regulating her strides, slowing down, speeding up, etc all the good pony things. Also I built two small jumps outside, one out of RR ties and one out of brush/sticks, I wasn't sure how she would handle them, sure I've jumped her quite a bit but she's never been asked to do Cross Country-ish jumps, she SAILED over them, I praised her and she was like "duh mom it's a jump of COURSE I'm gonna jump it" what a good girl.
I want taco salad, I made some last week for a SQ function and it got devoured so I didn't get to bring any back home :( poo. I have the stuff to make more but that requires effort, I lack the will to put forth effort.
While listening to TWiT(this week in tech) the other night they were talking about the death of print media, how bloggers and Twitter and such are replacing printed papers, magazines, etc. along with that they were talking about the danger in this trend, and at first I thought they were just on a tangent, what they were getting at is if you have a newspaper or magazine in front of you, you will at least skim every article, you may or may not read everything but you at least are exposed to it. Where if you subscribe to blogs, Twitters, RSS Feeds, etc. you are most likely reading things you agree with, subscribed to people who think like you, have the same view of the world as you, that sort of thing.
So I'm wondering do we do that? does my(our) little circle of bloggers consist of people with ideas like mine, morals like mine, political ideals like mine etc. etc. Do the people you subscribe to challenge you in any way? or are we just surrounded by more people like ourselves.
For me I don't think so, I have a pretty diverse set of blog friends, and while I may not agree with all of them all the time I do enjoy reading about lives that are different from mine.
I want to attend a big horsey clinic in May but I doubt it'll happen, I lack the funds, the proper safety equipment(vest) and my pony needs a new Coggens and that probably won't be done in time. It's a Centered Riding clinic, Dressage, hunters and Eventing...I is so wishing :(
I picked a new wallpaper for one of the rooms in my miniature house, I've also been working on some new furniture kits and getting more rooms prepped for new carpet/flooring and baseboards, unfortunately despite just being payed we are already broke so my order will have to wait.
Blah, time to hit the couch, get another snack and perhaps enjoy some time with my man :D
